Can you prevent colon cancer?
One in 20 will face a diagnosis of colon cancer in their lifetime, but this doesn’t have to be a death sentence, according to the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Lesley Dawravoo, a gastroenterologist at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Ill., explains how you can prevent colon cancer and why women might prefer a female doctor to perform their colonoscopy.
