Facebook: What age?
Patch.com, one of my favorite local news sources, recently asked parents to weigh in on the issue of when their child should be allowed to sign up for Facebook. What do you think? Even though my son is barely a year old, I’ve contemplated creating an account on his behalf as a sort of virtual scrapbook – along the lines of Google Chrome’s “Dear Sophie” TV commercial, which has brought tears to my eyes since the first time I saw it (when I was pregnant).
Of course, I haven’t done either of these things, in part because I feel like the future will make this particular technology obsolete or near-obsolete. I feel the actual paper baby book and traditional photo albums I’ve created will better stand the test of time. What do you use to chronicle your family events and catalogue memories?
