Elgin nurses, injured turkey team up to care for orphaned ducklings
When a mother duck was killed outside the Advocate Sherman Hospital emergency department in Elgin, Ill. on April 14, nurses came to the rescue of her orphaned eggs. Their efforts – and those of an injured turkey named “Talulah” who stepped in to play the role of surrogate mom – paid off when nine little ducklings hatched late last week.
