Health care heroes: Sweet delivery
Michelle Ross was inspired by the incredible work of the Emergency Department. She and her husband delivered dozens of packages of snacks and sweet treats, plus fresh fruit and beverages for team members because – as she noted – “treats make us all feel better.”
The senior data management coordinator at Advocate Children’s Hospital said she can’t imagine being in the ED staff’s shoes.
“I know the pediatric ED staff has been working so closely with the adult ED sharing the entrance, triage area and even lending pediatric beds to the overflowing adult ED,” Ross said. “I pulled up just as the overflow tent team was heading out to work, and it was like a scene from a movie – such a crazy thing to see.”
